Providers in these five states should not use the Humana Military provider portal for TRICARE claims. They must use Availity as the secure provider portal for the TRICARE West Region.

This is the most important fact on this page. Since January 1, 2025, TRICARE restructured its regional contracts. TriWest Healthcare Alliance replaced Health Net Federal Services as the TRICARE West Region contractor. Humana Military remained the East Region contractor. Providers who submit West Region claims through Humana Military’s portal will encounter errors and delays because Humana cannot process West Region claims.

What Is the Humana Military Provider Portal?

The Humana Military provider portal is the secure online tool for healthcare providers who serve TRICARE beneficiaries in the East Region. The portal is at HumanaMilitary.com and provides self-service access to claims, eligibility, referrals, authorizations, and remittances. Providers in East Region states use this portal to manage all TRICARE transactions.

Who Uses the Humana Military Provider Portal

Registration for the Humana Military provider portal is free and completed online at HumanaMilitary.com/Login. Providers select “Provider login” and then “Create your account.”

  3. Select Create your account

  4. Enter your personal information (name, email, phone)

  5. Create a username and password

  6. Set up Multi-Factor Authentication

  7. Enter your provider information: Tax Identification Number (TIN), National Provider Identifier (NPI), and practice details

Multi-Factor Authentication

Humana Military requires MFA for portal access. If you are not receiving MFA codes, verify that your phone number and email address are current in your account profile. If you have lost access to your MFA method, contact Humana Military provider support at 1-800-444-5445. 

How to Check Claims Status in the Humana Provider Portal

Providers in the East Region can check the status of submitted claims through the provider portal. Claim status shows whether a claim has been received, processed, or denied. Providers can view payment details and Explanation of Benefits (EOB) data for each claim.

  1. Log in to HumanaMilitary.com/Login

  2. Navigate to the Provider Access Claims Center

  3. Enter the patient information

  4. View claim status and payment details

Providers can also use the Humana Military Interactive Voice Response (IVR) line at 1-800-444-5445 to check the status of claims, determine eligibility and covered benefits, and check the status of referrals, authorizations, and behavioral health referrals.

How to Submit Claims in the Humana Provider Portal

Providers can submit TRICARE East Region claims electronically through the Humana Military provider portal or by mail. Electronic submission is faster and more accurate.

Electronic Claims Submission

  1. Log in to provider self-service at HumanaMilitary.com

  2. Click on the Provider Access Claims Center link

  3. Select a patient

  4. Enter claim information

  5. Submit the claim

  6. You can then submit another claim for the same patient, a different patient, or a different location 

Providers can also submit claims through their practice management software using PGBA, LLC as the claims processor. To submit claims electronically, providers must file a PGBA EDI Provider Agreement.

How to Verify Patient Eligibility in the Humana Provider Portal

Providers in the East Region can verify patient eligibility in real time through the Humana Military provider portal. Eligibility verification confirms that a patient is enrolled in TRICARE and eligible for benefits before services are rendered.

Steps to Verify Eligibility

  1. Log in to provider self-service at HumanaMilitary.com/log-in

  2. Enter your User ID and Password

  3. Navigate to the eligibility verification tool

  4. Enter the patient’s TRICARE ID and Date of Birth

  5. Select View to see eligibility details

Providers only need a secure user ID and password to access and work with the TRICARE West Region on Availity.

Latest Changes for 2025–2026

TRICARE Login Transition to myAuth (2026)

Throughout 2026, the online platforms that support TRICARE benefits are switching from DS Logon to myAuth. myAuth is a simpler, more streamlined login authentication application. Many platforms, including milConnect, ID Card Office Online, and contractor portals, have already made this switch.

With myAuth, users can log in with a Common Access Card, a username and password plus a secure multi-factor authentication method, or Okta Verify. If you have an existing DS Logon account, you can use it to get started. 

The transition is happening on a rolling basis across platforms. Until all platforms have transitioned to myAuth, you may still need to use DS Logon for certain logins. 

West Region Contractor Change (January 1, 2025)

TriWest Healthcare Alliance replaced Health Net Federal Services as the TRICARE West Region contractor on January 1, 2025. Six states — Arkansas, Illinois, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wisconsin — moved from the East Region to the West Region. Humana Military remains the East Region contractor. 

XPressClaims for Humana East Region (January 1, 2025)

XPressClaims is the online claims and claims-related document submission system for Humana Military provider self-service beginning January 1, 2025. Providers must file a PGBA EDI Provider Agreement to submit claims electronically.

Are Alaska, Wyoming, Hawaii, Utah, and Idaho in the Humana TRICARE region?

No. All five states are in the TRICARE West Region, managed by TriWest Healthcare Alliance. Humana Military manages the East Region. Providers in these five states use Availity.com, not HumanaMilitary.com.
